BEST
-- Cry, the Beloved Country (Alan Paton) - Beautiful, haunting prose. The only book I ever read for school that I was sad when it ended
-- Wicked (Gregory MacGuire) - Great insight into the (not-so) Wicked Witch f the West
-- Memoirs of a Geisha (Arthur Golden) - Beautiful, exotic details really convince you it's a real memoir
WORST
-- The Tatooed Girl (Joyce Carol Oates) - What the hell was this book about? Really?
-- Their Eyes Were Watching God (Zora Neale Hurston) - Loved the dialect... and that's about it.
-- The Jungle (Upton Sinclair) - Had like three decent chapters, not including the awesome gross out factor. Everything else bored me to tears
