I. Capt. "Howlin' Mad" Murdock
Hmm. Well that would explain a lot.

II. Lt. Templeton "Face" Peck
Murdock has always a guy to us. A really feminine guy. With breasts and hips and not a guy. One of the guys, y'know? Well, her wardrobe doesn't exactly help—T-shirts, khakis, Converse and a ballcap. It's like someone's paying her to look androgynous.
…Until today. Watching her run down the block like a pack of dogs was on her heels was when I first noticed—she wasn't wearing a T-shirt, but…a blouse. Not just any blouse—a really feminine one. Salmon colored with little pink roses. Two shades of pink, feminine cut and a girly pattern are not things that spring to mind when you think of Murdock.
The cut was what drove us all crazy, until we (or at least I) figured out why.

III. Col. John "Hannibal" Smith
Murdock has always been one of the best soldiers I've ever had under my command. She doesn't mind getting her hands dirty or getting into the fray. I've seen her take down men twice her weight with a good running tackle, as well as dish out a fair number of bloody noses.
But not lately. She's been… lingering back, not wanting to get in on any physical confrontation. She acts like she's trying to protect herself. She doesn't even do much roughhousing anymore—with Billy or Face or BA. She's always acted like a kid (I presume the way she did with her brothers back on the farm), but it feels like she's aged up between busts out of the VA hospital.
Took her forever to get around to explaining why to me, but once she did, it made a lot of sense. I'm not blaming her.

I had… three different ideas for this. The others were my Face AU, with him coping with losing his sight, and the Alpha Delta AU wherein KITT is getting used to her new identity and her partner Trans AM. I settled on genderswapped Murdock because this bunny was admittedly the healthiest of the lot.
Initially I was going to keep this strictly on BA’s musings, but somehow Hannibal and Face worked their way in. I don’t really mind it, either—everyone’s always very nice and cooperative. c: (Except BA. Normally he’s fairly cooperative… I think he’s a little reticent about the circumstances and I finally gave up on his passage.)
I am not at all ashamed of how Murdock’s section went. It’s easily the shortest thing I will ever fucking write, but I think it works. Plus, elaborating would have given it all away. Have fun guessing, kids. |3
