I like dragons. Not for the reason you might think, because I like animals.

Well, that’s one reason. I do like animals. It’s not because they’re big and powerful—well, that’s a tiny part of it. It’s because they’re so assertive. They just do and don’t think about the consequences. I wish I could be more like that.

Pinkie has been trying to help. She always wants to help me be more social with other ponies. There’s no one better at that than Pinkie Pie, I assure you. I know she does it because she loves me, and I really appreciate it and I really love her back… But I’m so scared.

Everypony else has tried, too, and I appreciate them, too, but… I’m still scared.

It’s not that I’m afraid of everypony in Equestria. What I’m afraid of is… I want to be assertive, like a dragon, but I’m afraid I’ll never be able to.

First person POV came oddly naturally for this. I like Fluttershy’s voice and it’s really pleasing to write for.
