thecrazyalaskan: (Sam x Al)

How could she not help but admire him? Sam may have teased him about not liking formal events, but when he dressed up for them—always in Naval full dress—it was hard to complain about previous absences. "You look great tonight, Al," she complimented.

Al smiled, removing his cover as they stepped into the long dining hall. "What, and I look like caca any other night?" he teased, brushing a kiss against her cheek.

Sam smiled, bemused, and kissed him in return. "Shut up, Al—you know what I mean."

The typical post-dinner meet and greet found Sam and Al chatting with another military officer, this one an Air Force colonel. "What line of work are you in, Dr. Beckett?" he asked. "Or do you prefer Samantha?"

"Sam, please," she corrected, glancing at the empty champagne flute in her hands. "I'm a quantum physicist."

"So you're one of the brains behind Project Quantum Leap?" the colonel asked.

"She's the brain behind Project Quantum Leap," Al cut in, with no small measure of pride, wrapping an affectionate arm around Sam's shoulders.

Sam smiled slightly. "You flatter me way too much, Al, but thank you."

Maybe Al was right when he said that Sam had missed all the fun of being a teenager because she was in college at age sixteen. Part of that fun, apparently was this, kissing in the car like hormonal teenagers.

Okay, maybe not quite like that, but it was certainly the kind of kissing that would earn a few quirked eyebrows in public. Not that that was on either of their minds. "Is that new perfume?" Al questioned, brushing a kiss against Sam's neck.

"Who wants to know?" she replied, working her fingers into his hair.

"Admiral Albert Calavacci," he teased softly, tilting his head into the touch.

"Rear Admiral Upper Half Albert Calavicci?" Sam clarified, kissing him softly.

Al hmm-ed in response; if it was in confirmation or appreciation, God alone knew.

"Never heard of him," Sam deadpanned, pulling back. "How about Al—think he'd like to know?" Without giving him a chance to reply, she leaned in and kissed him again.

All it took to make me want to finish this was listening to Scott Bakula's performance of Don Quioxte. Fuck yeah. 8D
The title stems from the basic nature of Sam and Al's dialogue. It’s awesome listening to them talk.

I couldn't make it work unless it was in three parts. However, I had to reference Al's dress uniform because let's face it—fuck yeah. 8D

Envisioning this is weird—Dean Stockwell is 5' 6" to Scott Bakula's 6'; if I didn't change the heights, it'd be so weird… Crazy tall female Sam, kinda short Al. (I find great amusement in the latter, given that I'm 5' 5".) So… I dunno, try to make Sam a little shorter here, if you'd like.
